"Lunch & Learn: Being Bohemian..." with Henry Cook: Sunday, April 28 (12:15pm, OFH)
Join us following worship on Sunday, April 28th, in OFH (12:15-1:15pm) for "Lunch & Learn: Being Bohemian... A Young Adult CONVO Retrospective" with Henry Cook.
Henry, a 2023 graduate of Grimsley High School, recently participated in Young Adult CONVO, an every-four-years worldwide gathering of Moravian young people (ages 18-25). This year's group of CONVO delegates made a pilgrimage to the Czech Republic and Germany to visit Moravian historical sites of spiritual significance.
Come enjoy lunch prepared and served by our Youth Fellowship (baked spaghetti, salad, garlic toast, drinks, and desserts) as Henry shares slides and stories from his experience. The cost is free; donations are encouraged to help replenish our CONVO fund for 2027 participants! Please RSVP here by April 21st so that have an accurate headcount for lunch.
Sunday on the Mountain: Sunday, May 5
Join your FMC family for worship, lunch, and an afternoon of fellowship at Laurel Ridge on May 5th as we celebrate Sunday on the Mountain!
For those wishing to carpool or caravan, we’ll depart FMC at 8:30am and arrive to Higgins Lodge between 10:15-10:30am. After worship on the terrace at 11:00am, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch in the dining room.
Following lunch, stay as long as you like and spend the afternoon rocking on the porch, knitting in the lodge, working a puzzle, playing ping-pong or board games, fishing in the lake, playing frisbee golf, or taking an easy hike to the top of the mountain to visit the various overlooks.
Lunch Menu: Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad bar, roll, drinks (coffee, tea, lemonade, water), apple pie with ice cream for dessert. (Alternate menu options are available for special dietery needs.)
Cost: $15/adults; $7.50/kids ages 5-12; kids under 5 free
Please sign up online (or on the narthex bulletin board) by April 21st. You can indicate the number in your family, whether you have any special dietary needs, or if you need a ride/have extra seating.
If you would like to extend your trip overnight (either Saturday or Sunday), rooms are available in Higgins Lodge to book at your leisure. Rooms in the Salem Wing are $125/night Fri-Sat and $75/night Sun-Thurs. Rooms in the Bishop Wing are $90/night Fri-Sat and $60/night Sun-Thurs.
