Welcome to the First Moravian Candle Tea!

 

The Candle Tea has been First Moravian’s Christmas gift to the Greensboro community since 1962.

Join us this December for live music in the Sanctuary, refreshments in the Tavern, Moravian craft demonstrations (star-making, beeswax candle-making, pottery-throwing, blacksmithing, and more), the Putz, and an opportunity to purchase your favorite holiday treats, including chicken pies, lighted Advent stars, and Moravian baked goods such as sugarcake, stollen, and apple dumplings.

Our 2024 Candle Tea will be held Friday, December 6th (2:00-8:00pm) and Saturday, December 7th (10:00am-1:00pm). 

 

Musical Performances

Throughout our Candle Tea event, area musical ensembles and soloists perform in our Sanctuary and Tavern.

Candle Tea Store Online

As our congregation works hard to produce chicken pies for our Candle Tea, we will have a limited number of pies (large and small) available for purchase in our online Candle Tea Store beginning in October. Orders may be placed and paid for online, then picked up from our Church Office on Mondays or Thursdays from 9:30am-12:30pm. (Please call our Church Office if you need arrange pick-up on a different day, so that we can make sure your order is ready!)

During the month of November, additional items will be added to our online store for pre-order and pick-up at our Candle Tea event. Additional pies will be available for purchase in person at our Candle Tea event in December.
